Breathing Prosperity on BlogTalk Radio

Posted By: Shauna  //  Category: Personal Development, Wealth Building

Through a lovely coincidence (is there really such a thing?), I was fortunate to spend an hour with a woman I admire this past Monday. Actually, it was an interview with her on her BlogTalk radio show ‘Beat the Monday Morning Blues,‘ and I’ve added the link below for those of  you interested in listening.

The woman’s name is Janice Marie Wilson, and she has a really fun, sparkly personality that’s simply an asset to anyone knows her. Janice believes, as I do, that by working together we can bring about a more connected, happy planet – with connected, happy, thriving people on it - and that our best way of doing this is to help people recognize, cultivate and share their true selves – quite simply, to shine!

Janice is a ‘Mastermind Mentor – isn’t that a great term? – and offers much wisdom in her book The Goodness Experience.

Janice was well-prepared for the interview, as I’m sure she always is, and asked many great questions. We shared some gems during the show, so be sure and have a listen when you can. Janice’s upbeat attitude made the hour go by very quickly, and we both enjoyed ourselves very much – let’s hope the listeners did as well!

As often happens when we take time to reflect on such things, I’ve come up with some thoughts I didn’t at the time, and offer them here for you now. Whether you were on the call or not, these should prove helpful to you. Enjoy!

Doing an internet radio interview is a unique experience, and I’ve only done it once before. Because Janice and I were on the phone together, we couldn’t see each other nor could I see the audience. Answering in a way that takes into account an invisible and silent audience, without any visual feedback from the host, is not easy. I was a little nervous, however I think we got some great information out there. For anyone doing radio interviews, especially via telephone, a great tip from Janice is to just have fun and look at it as a conversation with a friend. Luckily, Janice and I spent some time in person a few weeks ago and have communicated many times since, so I just kept her friendly smile in my mind as we spoke.

Janice asked some pointed questions about what someone can do when they are initially trying to break out of habitual ‘lack’ patterns and set a course for financial independence. We were discussing things in terms of my book, 30 Days to Wealth, and I neglected to mention a great resource for those of you currently focusing on the more ‘practical’ side of things. This little e-book* is packed full of money tips, from credit and investing to tax and savings tips. It’s already included as a bonus with the purchase of 30 Days to Wealth, but I’ve now added it as a standalone product at Breathing Prosperity. At just under $5, I think this represents a great investment. *Here’s the book info.:

Secrets of Saving Money – How to Keep Your Money in YOUR Pocket!

We discussed some exercises during the interview, including one I shared with you in my last post, Refining Your Ideal Blueprint. Another one we talked about can be found in detail in 30 days to Wealth – here’s part of it:

Imagine you are the Universe, trying to deliver massive abundance to a little human on earth. The little human has decided he or she MUST win the lottery, since the person wants ‘lots’ of money but cannot see any other way to obtain it. Can you see, as the Universe, how limiting this is, and how it leaves you with virtually no paths through which to deliver the abundance you have to share? In fact, it is difficult even to deliver a lotto win since the human doesn’t really believe they could win anyway. (The exercise is expanded and deepend in the book, of course, with further steps and explanations.)

Wealth: The Progression of Views

Posted By: Shauna  //  Category: Wealth

If one of your main goals is wealth or financial independence, you may find yourself noticing more and more the money-related issues that surround you. Perhaps you now notice the quality of clothing people choose to wear, or their cars, or just general presentation. Perhaps as you overhear snippets of conversation each day you have begun to pick out lack-based comments vs. wealth- or abundance-mentality phrases, where before you would not have thought to make such distinctions. Have you noticed your own mentality changing and metamorphosing as you go?…If not, you have a long way to come…

As you have read here and elsewhere many times, it is your thought processes and patterns that create your outer world, and in order to change your circumstances, you must change your thoughts. This is a noticeable occurence, as things around you will begin to be perceived differently and the meaning or significance you attach to events will change. Your values will shift and your your alignment and comfort with certain situations and people will undergo change as well.

If all this talk about change makes you uncomfortable, that is the first challenge to tackle. When you hear that you must change your thougts, it literally means you must undergo change – you cannot stay the same and expect different results. You can choose to view this as an exciting challenge or as a scary prospect. In all likelihood, the people around you will seem to change as well, as they interpret and react to the changes in you; in fact most of the time they will not have changed at all, but will be responding to the change in you, and not always in a happy way. Change threatens many people, and if you are one of those people you need to hop on over to the other side of the fence, where change is acknowledged as the only healthy and natural constant, and start rolling with it…relish every little change you notice, and be open to new views. Otherwise, how can you create your dreams? To repeat, unless YOU change, your life cannot change.

Aaron at Today is That Day points us to a great couple of posts by Steve Pavlina that follow his progression through some financial changes, and his story is well-articulated and worth reading for the lessons in it, pertaining to this subject.

Thanks to Aaron, as always, for pointing us to this fantastic content, and I hope you enjoy as many insights from Steve’s writing as I did.
