How Many Pictures Are You In?…

Posted By: Shauna  //  Category: Contemplations

The other day I was reading a story in a book about coincidences, about a postcard sent to the children of a gentleman in condolence after he had passed away. On the beach in the picture in that postcard, unbeknownst to the sender, was the very man in question. He had been caught on camera, along with many other tourists, walking along the beach taking in the sights. The children were shocked and surely experienced a poignant moment when they recognized their father in the photo.

This led me to begin thinking about all the people who inadvertently get captured on my camera with all the traveling and photo-taking I do. Particularly in this age of digital photography, many of us snap pictures as fast as we can, knowing we can delete them later. Hundreds, thousands, perhaps millions of people have been caught in the outskirts of my snapshots over the years.

What is ‘Real’ Life?

If we are just sitting at home day after day, or we just go through the motions of working and returning home, we may not enjoy or participate in many photo opportunities. If, however, we ‘get out there’ and enjoy life, even if it’s just in our spare moments, we are bound to be caught in many photographs, both intentionally and accidentally. We can, therefore, use the number of pictures we’re in as a form of measurement of how much we are enjoying and wisely using up the moments of our lives. Of course we will never know definitively, but imagine the many pictures you have been in, from your childhood until now…and imagine how many you might be caught in if you were living the life of your dreams.

It doesn’t necessarily take a lot of money to enjoy your life – go see an art show, enjoy a night of jazz at a local lounge, or go to the beach or wander your city streets watching people. Sit in a park, lounge under a tree and get started on that book you’ve always wanted to write, play with some kids you know…get out there and enjoy life right now, instead of waiting for a perfect future which will never come. The more you do so, the more you be inadvertently captured in the photos of people around you who are also out enjoying life.

Welcome Back to Breathing Prosperity!

Posted By: Shauna  //  Category: Personal Development, Welcome

This is a very exciting day!

This blog has been out of commission for various reasons during the past year or so, and now it’s back. The blog and the main website have been my beloved baby from day one, and I’m absolutely THRILLED to now have complete control of it.

For anyone who is still here and for what I hope will be many happy readers to join us soon, welcome and welcome back.

During the import process, it seems as if I’ve lost some blog posts along with the comments which attended them. I’m sorry to see this, but my elation over having my beautiful site in my hot little hands overrides this by a long shot. I’ll be posting lots from now on, and I look forward to getting this going again.

I’d like to thank our fabulous, original founders of Wealthy Women LLC and Breathing Prosperity — Ophelia, Peggy and LaKeitha — for being part of the energy and excitement which led to the creation of this site and blog in the first place. Ophelia in particular is a long-time friend and you may or may not find her posting here from time to time.

With this post I continue my pledge to write and teach all that I am passionate about — building true prosperity, overcoming our limiting beliefs and behaviors, breaking through our self-imposed barriers, and essentially creating the most passion- and love-filled lives we can, complete with magnificent abundance and achieved dreams of every sort.

While away from this site, I have been continuing to build on these passions of mine with other sites such as Increasingvelocity.com and Live-With-Power.com, which you may also enjoy. All are created with the aim of being resources in their respective fields, and there is a wealth of information and personal and professional tools at both sites. As for the main Breathing Prosperity site, I will be re-designing and re-building it over the next while, so kindly bear with me through the ‘construction.’

I very much look forward to hearing from you and interacting with you. Please do not hesitate to comment and say hello!
