Personal Development: 21 Days and 22 Exercises Towards a Wealthier Mindset – Day 12

Do you STINK of wealth? This morning as I walked into meeting -a  place that stank of poverty – and it begs the questions: Do you stink of success? Do you stink of wealth? When people see you do they automatically say wealth, do they automatically say success? Have you ever dressed up to make a run to the grocery store in sweats and a baseball cap? No wait that’s me. Anyway as you make your run, you feel far from wealth and success because at that moment you are not being wealthy or successful. I wrote a book called ‘You’re Not Rich Because Your Life is a Mini Drama’ – no it’s not published yet but I’ll let you know (Yeah that was shameless self promotion and I’m okay with that)!

Now in the book I talked about this movie – TWO FOR THE MONEY- since I’m a huge trading/poker fan anything that makes tons of money fan; I like these sorts of movies. So this guy is small time and he rides a bike to work and does sports gambling picks. He gets picked up by a guy who has a huge empire of sport gambling and what is the first thing this guy who runs this empire do – He gives him a MAKEOVER. He puts him into a Mercedes and tells him to dress for the part. When people see his car they go what does that mean on the back? He tells him to BE JOHN ANTHONY (a fictitious name) but be John Anthony. A lot of people are playing the part of JOHN BROKE and that’s what they get back…more John broke because John rich is totally different. Now when you dress wealthy, is it easier to associate with the thoughts of wealth? – HELL YES! Do you then attract friends who are wealthy? When you walk into a resturant do they immediately think – Wealth? - Yes! Why? – because at that moment you are in the wealth vibration.

Does Tyler Perry dress like a woman to play Madea? – YES!!!!!!!!!!! Does Eddie Murphy dress like his characters? Why? – because it’s easier for you to act the part if you are dressed for the part. Imagine going to see Oprah’s Color Purple and the entire cast is dressed in futuristic clothing. Wouldn’t you have a hard time following the play? Doesn’t the clothing tie in the effect? Make you feel like you are in that era? Imagine someone on Hallowe’en coming to your house dressed like a monster but skipping and talking like a princess.

So it’s all good to do all the wealth exercises but until you start looking the part - BEING JOHN ANTHONY - then it’s all a waste isn’t it…It may be one nice dress or one suit of clothes but there is nothing that says you can’t wear it every day and soak up that wealthy feeling it gives. I heard a saying ‘Dress for the job you want – not the job you have’ and so I’m changing it to Dress for the wealth you want not the wealth you have.

So today’s exercise is to think about your current life: Are you dressing the part of millionaire or billionaire? Are you willing to expand past your normal thinking and DRESS THE PART? Are you willing to change how you look to get what you want? You know I’m a big jeans, sneaker fan and no makeup and Shauna and I had this conversation about having $500 Mill yesterday and the conversation came up where she was trying to convince me that I wouldn’t dress the same – I was like no I’d dress the same – well maybe not, but until this morning when I walked into that office building and it stank of poverty did I truly get what she was saying. Did I truly see the disconnection between my 500 million dollar self and the regular me?…and so as always my posts are not only for everyone watching and listening, but it is also for me and although I have money I don’t have the money I want which is $500 mill – $1 bill to get on the Forbes list . So I also need to dress like the billionaire Ophelia and it’s not a do it next year – it’s do it NOW.  Change now – Be JOHN ANTHONY NOW!!!
