Personal Development:21 Days and 22 Exercises Towards a Wealthier Mindset – Day 3
Author: ophelia | Category: Law of AttractionYesterday I missed an important point and I wanted to turn that into my extra exercise.
Yesterday’s exercise was ‘what do you talk about?’ but I forgot to add ‘How do you talk about money?’ I believe T. Harv Eker said ’Imagine if you treated your husband, wife, spouse, best friend like you do money – How long would they stick around?’: Money is the reason I have to work so hard/Brian is the reason I have to work so hard; Money is the root of all evil/Brian is the root of all evil; Money can’t make you happy/Brian can’t make you happy; Money corrupts people/Brian corrupts people. Would Brian stick around? – probably not! So money goes where it is appreciated and loved, just like people…So if you treat and talk about it badly no wonder it’s never around. Be honest, would you stick around if someone blamed you for making people work too hard, for making people act stupid, for making people act stuck up, for people not having enough, for people dying or starving to death, called you evil, etc etc.?
So exercise no 3 is get a piece of paper and write down all the things you say or think about money and imagine if someone were saying it about you!
Okay now on to today’s exercise. Aaron at Todayisthatday.com has a post that describes exactly what I want to talk about today and that is Action. A lot of people listen to the words that are being said but very few are actually doing anything. A lot of people major in minor things – they get up every day and they work 9-5, come home to kids and spouse, dinner and you wake up and do it all over again – year in and out. A friend of mine when I let her read my book went oh I’m so inspired that you wrote a book, I’ve always wanted to write a book, my mom’s life was so interesting and could write a book about it. Has she written a book yet? – Nooooooooooo…Will she ever write a book? – probably not.
Many people are so afraid that if they make a decision they will make a mistake that they can never make a decision to take action on anything. They spend the entire time thinking about it, talking themselves out of it, telling themselves why it won’t work. As I write this I think about myself – I’ve always been one of those fly by the seat of my pants kinds that learn how to fly on the way down and/or swim – whichever! If I get a good idea I pounce on it before my mind has a chance to think, and by the time my mind realizes, I’ve already gone off the cliff but at the end of the day I come out thinking wow I discovered something new about myself today…So the question is if you continue along this path where will you end up in 5 years? Same job, same house, same life – nothing will change except you will be 5 years older.
What could you do today that will change the course of your life in 5 years? What could you do today that will put you one step closer to the life of your dreams? So it’s an easy exercise today:
Exercise 4 – Look at your life – Look at your life 5 years in the future. What could you do today that will make a difference in 5 years? What can you do today that could change the course of your life? WELL DO IT ALREADY!

Eeep – well, this one was more than a bit of an eye opener.
Things that I say about money: Money is always in short supply.
I never have enough money.
I never have enough money to have fun. I never have enough money to get big ticket items (the living room TV has been broken since the tornado in May 2003 – likely just needs demagnetized).
I have to work for money. Making money is a struggle. I envy people who get things and money handed to them. I can’t appreciate something if I haven’t paid for it.
Money won’t be around when I’m old – I won’t have enough.
Nobody likes to talk about money. Nobody likes to talk around money. I have to always pinch money.
I don’t have near enough money for my needs. I don’t have near enough money for my wants. I don’t want the responsibility that comes with money. Money isn’t religious.
People will change around me if I have money. Money doesn’t grow on trees. I don’t have money to get …
I have to work at a boring, negative job to get money. Having money given to me or finding lots of money is not good. All people really want is the money you can give them.
and so on…

Can I or anyone else that’s commenting extend these posts to time and people too?

Hey, Theresa;
Just want to say you did a GREAT job getting all those beliefs to the surface – that is one HUGE step that sometimes takes people a long time…believe it or not some people say they don’t even HAVE any limiting beliefs about money…they have to really do some work to discover them.
Amazing isn’t it, when we realize what we’ve been doing?!
As far as your last question goes, I’m not sure I understand, but if you’re asking if you have limiting beliefs about people and time then you are definitely on the right track – you name a subject and you’ll find underlying, limiting beliefs…it’s actually REALLY fun to find and release/dissolve them, because this is when true change occurs. It’s like having little epiphanies all the time.
Have fun, and we are so glad we’re helping!

Exercise 4 – just glanced at this as I dropped the page on top of my satchel to take with me — geez, five years into the future? I can’t think/picture five days into the future – five hours from now I will have been back home for around two hours – that’s about as far as I can be sure of.

Hi, Theresa;
Just a quick comment – don’t want to go into detail here.
It’s not about what you can be sure of – it’s about what you want to CREATE.
