Law of Gestation – What is Headed in Your Direction?

For a few weeks the Law of Gestation and the need to talk about it has been constantly coming up for me. I look at people’s lives and I see not only the Law of Attraction but the Law of Gestation at work.

For those who don’t know what the Law of Gestation is, it is simply a law that states that it takes time for the unseen to become seen. Now a lot of people talk about the Law of Attraction, but very few mention and discuss the Law of Gestation. It takes time for you to see the effect of your actions. Some actions cause immediate effect – others take a while…now depending on your actions you can determine the things you will reap. Whatsoever you sow – you will reap…simple.

I had a client a few weeks ago, who couldn’t pay her mortgage, who couldn’t pay her car note, who couldn’t pay her utilities, who had ripped up her front yard and refused to discuss it with the HOA – so now they were suing her. Now from an onlooker standpoint, it seems everything is happening at once - a snowball effect – one thing after another or a run of bad luck, but in reality she put all these things into play with the Law of Attraction and TIME was now catching up to her with the Law of Gestation.

Now another person I know – unfortunately I seem to know alot of people who use these laws inappropriately but that’s just life isn’t it – but this other person cannot pay her mortgage, her taxes, her utilities or anything else for that matter, and for her it seems to be a snowball effect like when it rains it pours. But behind the scenes I know that this person put it all into effect. I watched it happen. Now you can say ‘Ophelia why would you sit back and watch someone do that to themselves?’ and I’d have to answer that I cannot be responsible for everyone’s life. I can say watch out truck is coming but they have to move out of the way…and with this person I said TRUCK IS COMING – but still they didn’t move out of the way…

Now this last person I know, I sat down and said ‘Okay, this is my life. What do I want the results to look like?…Okay in order to be at this point these steps need to be taken’…so within five years this person had paid off their cars, paid off their home , bought 5 rental properties and had money saved in the bank. Now I understand that not everyone can be like that or would want that, but the fact remains – an onlooker would see it as a run of good luck. But there is no such thing as LUCK. It is all about the things that you are putting into play.

What is headed in your direction?

For most it will be closer to scenario 1 and 2 – and then they will blame everyone except themselves for the state of their lives. For others who have started to use Law of Attraction to their benefit they may still be headed for scenario 1 and 2. This is because as a wise man told me once, ’You cannot go from hurricane to sunny skies all in one moment. You have to go from bad to neutral to good.’ So it will take time…

So it is good to question today – the actions that you are doing, the path that you are on – what is brewing for you? What is headed in your direction? Will it be turmoil as you leave things undone, unfixed, unresolved, or do you have a solid plan and are working towards the good in your life?

As Shauna would say, ‘What do you want your life to look like in 1 year? Take out a piece of paper and plan for it.’ Don’t sit down waiting for some miracles to happen and for it to magically appear. Miracles happen every day. Miracles are the things that you do on a daily basis that people think are boring and you wake up and these boring tasks have paved you the way to the life of your dreams…

You have a choice – you always have a choice. You can stack up the good things so that when it comes it is a snowball of amazing things one after the other and people say ‘man that guy is lucky’, or you can stack up the bad things and people will say ’man this guy has had a run of bad luck’…

P.S. When bad things head your way, do not leave them unresolved like a sore festering under the skin. Fix it immediately and save yourself some heartache in the future. If you get a parking ticket, don’t let it stack up till you lose your license or it appears on your credit report. If you get a bill, don’t let it stack up till the utilities get shut off. If you need gas don’t wait till you run out on the side of the road to walk to a gas station and get a ride back to your car. LAW OF GESTATION IS ALWAYS WORKING – DON’T LET IT WORK AGAINST YOU!

    This is brilliant Shauna, what a great concept to addressed, and you’re right, it could definitely use a bit more coverage/understanding–

    I’d like to add a flipside which is the results of altering feelings ARE instant and immediate. You make a choice one moment, and feel better instantly. You can then choose ANOTHER better feeling choice, again resulting in instant improvement and instant feedback of that improvement, through feelings.

    Now of course you know all this, I just felt it’d be a great addition to this particular post.

    If one has trained themselves very well, they may be able to easily ‘shrink’ the gestation period for ‘good’ things or ‘lengthen’ the gestation period for ‘bad’, simply by making better-feeling choice after better-feeling choice, in quick succession, moment after moment :)

    We sometimes call these people… “Lucky.”

    Jason, thank you so much. You’re right! Ophelia wrote this post to help people who were often writing of frustration and impatience, and I must say we had our share as well. :) Every choice we make moves us in a direction…whether we ‘feel’ it or not. Reaching for the better feeling thought, as you say, improves both this moment and all future moments.

    Lately, I can see my ‘gestation’ time get smaller and smaller, to the point where truly, even as I’m thinking about something I often turn around and there it already is! I have no doubt, Jason, that with your powerful sense of alignment and love that you experience the same thing often. You are an inspiration to all of us! Thanks for your valued contribution. xxoo
