Darn! I am going to have to stop hanging out with Ophelia…now that we have really started noticing lack programming in the media, it seems I cannot get away from it.

I am not a big TV person because I know it is not the best of influences, plus I usually have better uses for my time. However, last night I relaxed for a short time to enjoy one of my favourite shows; CSI Miami. I love the city of Miami for its fun and warmth, and palm trees and fantastic cars, and no snow and speedboats and beach and great condos and beautiful houses…etc., etc.. I watch CSI Miami to get my fix when I am not travelling…it is pretty cold and snowy here in Toronto at the moment.

So…I could not get through 5 minutes of the show without hearing a derogatory comment in regards the wealthy people in the storyline…now I have been watching this show for years, and NEVER noticed this before. I expect we are meant to identify with the main characters in the show, as opposed to the wealthy people depicted…but it is plain to see how snide little remarks about how ‘it must be nice’ to party all the time, insinuations about rich people being corrupt, cheating on their spouses, spoiling children or not supervising them, etc.. create and reinforce ideas in our minds about how MOST people feel about wealth. No wonder we have been running the other way much of our lives!

It is time for you to CHANGE THIS. I can tell you that since I read those life-changing words by Carol Look (from her book Attracting Abundance), ‘What other people think about you is none of your business’, my financial life has changed drastically – for the better, of course!

While we – here at Breathing Prosperity – are working to change this negative perception of wealth, there will still remain many millions of people who think this way, due to the sheer number of lack messages they are bombarded with every day. So what to do? Worry about yourself. There is no one else you can control.

Start looking for and weeding out your negative beliefs and thoughts, and watch your life change before your very eyes!
