I was going to talk about being consistent in today’s Personal Development: 21 Days and 22 Exercises series but I went over to Aaron Potts’s blog at Todayisthatday.com and found he had written a piece on it and it brings up an important point – A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE CONSISTENT WITH BEING INCONSISTENT!

Wisdom We Love
"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives."
~ Henry David Thoreau
"Awareness is about noticing the moment. It is about stopping, looking, listening, feeling, experiencing fully what is happening. It is a meditation. Awareness turns everything into a meditation. Washing dishes. Making love. Cutting the grass. Saying a word out loud to another. All becomes a meditation."
~ from Friendship with God by Neale Donald Walsch
"Here’s the thing—I believe that the Law of Attraction is working at a pathetic 8% of its immense potential for you—simply because the rest of the world did not tell you about the 11 other laws."
~ from Bob Proctor's “The 11 Forgotten Laws That Make The Law of Attraction An Unbreakable Force”

It is, in my humble opinion, probably the biggest problem that exists in the self improvement/personal development arena!
I’ve tried to brainstorm some sort of incentive program that would help to keep people on track on a day to day basis, but I have yet to come up with anything that I thought would be effective.
I’m still workin’ on it, though!

Hey Aaron,
I think it’s the biggest problem in every arena and maybe we can brainstorm togather

Part of the consistency problem I think is that people don’t see things happening right away.
I can’t remember – there’s a word for seeing something occur so you know you’re on the right track or the Universe has heard, and the full manifestation shows up later. I think I read it in one of Steve Pavlina’s blogs; not quite the “picture of the Bently in a magazine” scenario that I remember from here.
Plus those pesky limiting beliefs keep getting in the way, at least in my case. On the other hand, I have felt change and shift so many times in the past year, including lately dealing with this series and others, but haven’t discovered too much major change physically/outwardly. It’s frustrating; especially when the people I’m close still say I’m the same way, when I’ve worked to change.
