Finances & Other Objectives: Setting Priorities

Author: Shauna  |  Category: Wealth

For almost all of us, one of the biggest struggles comes from not investing the time to set our own, personal priorities. Thus, we get caught up in the little, urgent issues of everyday life and place little or no emphasis on the daily steps it takes to achieve long-term objectives.

No matter how old you are, believe me when I say it is NO fun to wake up in 10 years and discover that you are nowhere near where you want to be. To look back, and with the clarity of hindsight see that with a few small changes in habits – in daily actions – your life today could be so very different. How strange as humans to be given the gift of self-awareness but then also the curse of tending not to use it…

This is a complex subject and takes more discussion and thought than can be included in one article. Suffice for today to say that this phenomenon applies to everything we touch; our financial lives, our relationships, our career and personal satisfaction levels.

I bring this up to share with you a simple and fun tool for prioritizing that I thought you might enjoy. While it is set up to make sense out of financial goals, it can be used to help you make choices about any subject that’s on your mind. The tool is from CNNMoney online, and is free – click here to try it! Like Joe Vitale’s goal setting worksheet, it can be re-used and re-set any time you want, thus making it a useful little tool to be aware of and to USE. Enjoy!

(11/09) Ed. note: I notice Joe Vitale’s usemanifestsoftware is not available. I will leave the link here in case he decides to bring it back – it’s really great stuff!)
