Does God Test Us and How the Hell Do We Know If We Pass? – RANTING
Author: ophelia | Category: Law of AttractionAs anyone who has ever read my writing knows, my writing gives immediate feedback to the thoughts running through my head at that moment - aren’t you lucky you aren’t in my head? I got an email this morning from someone and the email read like this:
I’m very shocked at your article “Are You Asking for Things and Then Telling the Universe ‘NO thanks!?”. I believe in the LOA, however I also believe that God is testing us every single day. This was a test for this guy. He PASSED!! LOA says “What you focus on expands”. Can’t imagine he will have anyone stealing anything from him anytime soon. I think you should come out with Part 2 real quick!!.
This comment though I’m sure was made in all seriousness left me laughing like crazy, and asking myself the question – Does God test us and how the hell do we know if we pass? I personally don’t believe that God tests us but then again I don’t believe in God either but if I did – I still wouldn’t believe he tested us. So I’m asking myself this question today – Does God test us and how the hell do we know if we pass? I mean after all he doesn’t come down and give us an A or anything. When you are in school and you take a test – how do you know that you passed? When a teacher gives you a grade, you may feel that you passed the test but you really don’t know for sure until your teacher says you passed or failed based on not YOUR standards but the TEACHER’S standard of pass or fail.
So how do we know if we are passing “GOD’S TEST“? I guess it would just be left for us make a judgement whether we feel we pass or not…wouldn’t it? After all he isn’t telling us now is he…So imagine going through 4 years of college or high school without any feedback on whether you passed or not. How would you know if you are going to graduate? You wouldn’t.
So this leads me to my bigger question. If we have no clue how to figure out if we pass God’s tests or not, then did it ever occur to anyone that maybe – just maybe - THERE IS NO TEST!!!!! That maybe we’ve just created this as a way of judging ourselves…that GOD/UNIVERSE doesn’t give tests or make judgements. What would be the purpose of these tests? TO SEE IF WE ARE WORTHY? Worthy of what exactly? If you look at it from the Universe’s stand point, we are already GOD so why would I test myself? I WOULDN’T. Now if we are looking at it from the God’s standpoint, why would he test his kids? Do you test your kids to make sure they are worthy of something? NOPE. Well at least I don’t…My kids are worthy just because they are my kids..they are from me and therefore have UNCONDITIONAL love…I dont put them through tests to prove anything…
I remember I used to sing along to this BEYONCE song – with lyrics that say THOUGH I’M NOT WORTHY HE STILL LOVES ME – though I’m not worthy the lord still loves me… WHAT THE HELL. This is why a lot of people cannot make more money, cannot attract the life they want because they have issues of worthiness and a lot of it comes from the thought that someone greater than themselves is testing them to see if they are worthy. It’s like Santa Claus – going to find out who is worthy enough to get a gift – who is naughty and who is nice. We feed our kids these lines growing up then they grow up and look at their life and if they aren’t living the life they want they start thinking it’s a test and they aren’t worthy enough or deserving enough to live an amazing life.
What is the purpose of these TESTS? To see if you are allowed to go to heaven. NEWSFLASH – THIS IS HEAVEN. Even the bible says that this is heaven…yet we are sitting down waiting to see if we pass the TEST in this life so we can go enjoy the next life. But it all boils down to ONE important point that we seem to keep missing all the time…RESPONSIBILITY.
If you believe in Law of Attraction then you believe that we CREATE our lives therefore if we CREATE our lives…then we are also CREATING our TEST. You cannot create your life and also think GOD is testing you. It’s about taking responsiblity for everything not pushing it off on GOD and say oh this happened to me because he is testing me. It happened because you created it. Take responsiblity for it – say I created bounced checks because I felt unworthy and negative about money, not because God is testing you to see if you can handle money…I created car accidents not because God is testing your faith in him – but because you thought negatively about your safety.
At some point we get to the point where we have to start giving a deeper look into our beliefs. There is no right or wrong – all judgement is HUMAN. Judging our lives and others based on our beliefs, not UNIVERSAL or GODLY beliefs. I had a guy call me up and say the woman he is dating thinks he is cheating. Well are you cheating? I ask – Nope but she’s had people cheat on her before so she thinks all men cheat. Well this woman is she making judgement based on what is, or HER beliefs of what is? HER BELIEFS.
I’ve said it before and I’d like to say it again – Universe/GOD – doesn’t make rain, snow, sleet fall on only good people. It falls on EVERYONE, prince or pauper. That means Universe/God doesn’t JUDGE. Does Law of Attraction work whether you ask for a car accident, rape or murder or a 5 million dollar mansion - YES. It doesn’t judge and say this is wrong and this is right. It just gives it to you. Does gravity work whether you are jumping off a building or whether you are standing firmly on the ground - YES. It doesn’t judge and say oh standing good, jumping bad. So therefore for GOD to do tests means Universe/GOD is JUDGEMENTAL, and it’s not. Only humans are judgemental. Only humans judge whether you are wrong or right…God/UNIVERSE is Unconditional so the GOD testing you is YOURSELF.
Special Note: I was asked about using the word hell in my post. And so if you feel the word hell has been used as a “BAD Word” then it stems from your judgement of the word HELL. If I were to say – you are all going to hell it would be deemed as good. But if I say How the hell do we know if we pass – then it is all of a sudden “BAD”. The word didn’t change…my tone of voice may have changed but the word didn’t change…so it all comes back down to JUDGEMENT of things including a word.

I enjoyed this post. What kept running through my mind is that we set up the judgment/tests ourselves. Why? Are we using it as a measure of contrast? Is it the thing we use as motivation? How did it get to be viewed in a negative light? Differences aren’t right or wrong..just different. Thanks for the provocation. (meant in a very positive way!)

Hi Gina,
I think we do create it to motivate ourselves that we are on the right track when we think we’ve passed a certain test but it could also be hurtful if we start looking back thinking God was testing me and I failed miserably.
Thanks for the comment – Glad it could provoke thought

This morning I took a phone call for Mom that was a bit of a niggling wake up call for myself – a couple of things that I may need to keep a much closer eye on when I have insurance.
I thought about this blog posting – and about why I would want to use “God is testing me,” as an excuse.
Lately I’ve been guided to a lot of “self-abandonment” and “outside relationships mirror what’s on the inside” information – like the March 17th posting and the earlier Mirror posting here.
It feels and sounds to me that at the core I’m playing the martyr or getting attention wrongly – and that’s why I keep getting things piled on me, not because “God is testing me.”
Sure it feels hard and frustrated and painful now – but I must remember that I got myself into these messes, and until I get out, it’s just going to get worse because I’m letting it do so.
God’s not testing me – I have attracted/am attracting these things to me based on what I have done/am doing to myself.
Now to focus what I do want and how I want things to be – and go from here.
Carry on!
