It is amazing that when someone wants to be a doctor or a lawyer they know that the first step is to study law or go to medical school, but when it comes to success or wealth everyone assumes they know all that they need to know yet they aren’t very successful or wealthy. What if a doctor told you that they knew everything about surgery and will operate on you based on that fact, yet had never taken any time to go to medical school or learn from a professional doctor? Would you walk out immediately or would you trust him and go under the knife? I’m going to assume the answer would be to walk out immediately and NEVER GO BACK… EVER… AND I DO MEAN EVER..
So how is it when it comes to something as important as our success or wealth we think we don’t need to study successful or wealthy people? Aaron Potts at Today is That Day.com did his Simply Successful Secrets project a few weeks ago and truly that was an example of studying how successful people act and behave versus how other people act. I’m not sure if his project is complete but I can say that most of the successful people seem to have similar habits just like doctors have similar techniques for performing a surgery.
Why is it important to study Success or Wealth?
Well this depends on how much you want success or wealth doesn’t it? Do you know where the wealthy bank? Do you know where the wealthy invest? Do you know where the wealthy hang out? Do you know why the wealthy seem to always be increasing their net worth? How do they think? Robert Kiyosaki says that poor people and rich people don’t think differently – they think opposite. No, they don’t get their investment ideas from the post, No they don’t follow Warren Buffet track, No they don’t think the way you do, No they don’t have the same friends that you do, No they don’t get the same investment opportunities that you do. What do you really know about the wealthy except that they drive nice cars and live in a big fancy house?
No they don’t call up the stock broker hoping that he can get them a good investment. The broker calls them and they get in on the ground floor. When I used to trade stocks I found out that if you are a SELECT customer you get certain IPO’s before they even hit the market; that some major brokers get IPO’s that they issue to SPECIAL clients – TRUST ME IT’S NOT YOU. Do you think they bought google at $85? Not a chance.
Robert Kiyosaki has a game called Cash Flow and if you’ve ever played the game you will realize it has two parts. One is called THE RAT RACE and the other is called THE FAST TRACK. Now I played that game 3 times before I won. The first time my uncle played that game he won and thought man this is a piece of cake. The first time a friend of mine played, she went bankrupt within 10 minutes. I said how you play this game is how you play life…she said No not my life – this game says nothing about my life. Trust me when I say that years later, she is still going bankrupt but anyway in this game you have a RAT RACE which is regular life – go to work, pay bills, go to work, pay bills, investment opportunity, debt, go to work, pay bills. You get the point. Now the object of the game is to get enough PASSIVE INCOME to get out of the rat race where you didn’t need a J.O.B to cover your bills. Most people never do that and live paycheck to paycheck. Anyway once you get off the rat race you get on the fast track. Now on the fast track you start getting investment opportunities that weren’t available to you while you were in the rat race. Why do you think that is?? Do you think the world of the wealthy operates a bit different than the world you are used to? I was in real estate for a number of years and the houses that hit the market were usually the houses that weren’t the true GEMS. The true GEMS never made it to the market. Do you think the real estate agent calls the client with loaded pockets first or the client who is trying to do their first investment property?
What makes successful people a success? What separates them from the rest of the pack? What makes them tick, how do they think? Tony Robbins talks about the fact that he used to study successful people – do you think he learned anything? Do you think he’s become successful because of this?…

Most people see that as the main obstacle: How do I find successful or wealthy people who are willing to teach me how to be wealthy or successful?…P.S. this isn’t something you can learn in a book. Well you do it like any goal…if you wanted to get to a million dollars you would get a game plan and you need a game plan to study success and wealth.
